MNF

Backing up after Origin for Monday Night Footy this week was possibly tougher than if i had to back up for friday night footy.
I had just enough time to get through the origin recovery and start feeling better when Monday’s game against the Warriors came so i think i wouldve rathered just got rd11 out of the way earlier.

Monday night footy is a bit weird to play in at the best of times anyway - you sort of feel like you’ve missed the party because the round is pretty much done and dusted.

Monday’s game was good though. in the dewy conditions at Parra we did well to keep focus for the entire game and put on a good score. It was tricky out there - there was a painted section of grass that was like a slip and slide.

The eels are all feeling pretty good about our premiership hopes at this stage of the season. We did well to stick solid for the whole game on monday after a tight first half. If we had done the same against Manly we could’ve had them too.

The toe is feeling pretty good and i’m generally pretty fresh today. I’m still excused from a couple of running sessions early in the week but there’s a couple of guys in the same boat so i’m not feeling too guilty about it at the moment.

Just finished a training session today. There are some days where you really think you can’t be bothered and want to call in sick but part of the discipline of playing footy is just getting on with it.

Around Origin time i don’t get a whole lot of spare time to spend with the family but Bonnie’s understanding about that sort of thing and knows what sort of responsibilities i have.
We’ve been trying to throw around a few names for the new baby lately. I want Rowdy but Bon isn’t too excited about that one. Alfalfa or Jughead maybe?

Little Archie is doing well though - check out the photo of him with the rice cake on the mms page. He looks like he’s watching texas chainsaw massacre. little champion.

hope everyone has a good weekend - time to start sitting out the first few days of rd 12 before our game against the tiges.

Good luck against the Tiges.. I’ll be there cheering you on.

Also, on MG saying that you were not 100% committed in origin 1.. - the guy is a baboon who doesn’t have a clue or brain..he honestly says some of the dumbest things on TV!!

I have never seen you to not give 110% for your club. state or country.. you are truly a legend and will be remembered as one of the greats!!

Geyer can stick his opinions you know where.

No idea why he’s been having a go at you. As far as i can tell you always give your full commitment and then some and personally i think you’re having one of your best seasons in attack and defence. Keep up the top play dude !

    Hi Nathan,

Too bad about Origin II. I don’t know what happened. You were great, as always, giving your heart and soul to the game which always frustrates me when I feel you are playing your guts out and the end result is not in your team’s favour, in this case, the Blues. I was hoping against hope there would be a decider. I hope you boys won’t let the Maroons have the glory of a whitewash. If I can get a ticket to the already sold out game (do you know how hard that is to do?) then I expect you boys to win at Suncorp or at least give the other team a night to remember.

I love watching you play. You give so much to the game. Don’t ever let any negative publicity bring you down. You are the best. Just ask your family and/or your fans.

In the meantime, goodluck with the game tomorrow against Dragons. The Eels are looking good as a contender in the premiership this year and you have played a huge part in their success.

All the best to you, Bonnie, Archie and (Rowdy?). You are one of the good guys.
